Executive Vice Chancellor and Acting Chancellor with the Florida Department of Education
For over forty years, Dr. Judith Hornyak Bilsky has served students in Florida’s educational system as a faculty member, administrator and policy developer. Serving as Executive Vice Chancellor and Acting Chancellor with the Florida Department of Education, she helped oversee the transition of community colleges to state colleges and most recently held the role of Provost/Chief Operating Officer at Florida State College at Jacksonville, as well as twice serving as Acting College President. Since 2015, Dr. Bilsky has been actively working as a policy consultant on legislative issues for the Florida Council of Presidents and the Association of Florida Colleges and also working with numerous colleges on streamlining operational issues as well as facilitating collective bargaining negotiations. Dr. Bilsky holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Florida. Dr. Bilsky’s maternal and paternal grandparents are all natives of Hungary.
