The PAGE Distinguished Student Award (Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education) is one of the most prestigious recognitions for gifted students in the state. Each year, only one student is selected in each age group, based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills, creativity, and community involvement.
And now, here’s the news we’re especially proud of:
2024 Lower Elementary Winner: Alexia Bathazi – A Hungarian Girl, A Community’s Pride!
It fills us with great joy and emotion to share that for the 2024–2025 academic year, Alexia Bathazi received the PAGE Award in the lower elementary (grades 3–6) category — making her the most outstanding student in her age group across the entire state of Pennsylvania.
But that’s not all.
Alexia is of Hungarian heritage, and her mother is none other than Judit, a beloved member of our community, a valued colleague, and dear friend who has always supported Hungarian initiatives with heart and soul. Now her daughter is leading by example — with brilliance, dedication, and talent.
A Recognition That Goes Far Beyond a Certificate
This award isn’t just a piece of paper — it sends a clear message: Hungarian talent can shine anywhere in the world.
Alexia’s story proves that curiosity, hard work, and a strong support system can lead to truly extraordinary achievements. We’re incredibly proud that our Hungarian-American community is home to such exceptional young people.
Congratulations, Alexia!
This is just the beginning — and we’re sure we’ll be hearing your name again in the future. Know that we’re always cheering you on and are endlessly proud of you!
